Are You Willing to Fail?

To fail in this human life is something that we fear, yet it can be a trademark of astounding growth. That which the ego considers “failure” is often triumph to the eternal soul. And this is because failure offers unprecedented healing and transformation.

Personal crisis leads us to revelation and rapid purification. We let go of all that we cling to so tightly and embrace how our soul longs to grow. Best of all, the growth that we undergo as humans accelerates the spiritual path exponentially, and benefits us forever

Failure may seem forced upon you, but your soul might choose it for profound reasons. When you are faced with failure, everything gets shaken up, and you awaken to the truth. You free yourself from major fears and challenge yourself to accept, to expand your awareness, and to grow as you reach higher than before. This begins with the realization that you are living through what you never thought you could, and nothing can touch you now.

Finally, you don’t give a damn what your ego thinks, and you decide to live deeper from your being. You let go of human constraints so that you rediscover what has real meaning for you. And then you tap into a power you long forgot you had when you were amidst the familiar and confining. At last, you seize your higher purpose and welcome the blossoming of yourself.

Recently, I heard about a group of people who quit their safe jobs to pursue their greatest dreams. And guess what this group calls themselves? The “Failure Club.” They are freeing themselves from fears of money, expectations, and safety so that they can live in higher purpose. They are saying goodbye to what doesn’t serve and welcoming bigger ideas.

You see, failure is purifying, and this process is happening collectively right now. Old systems are collapsing and shifting, making way for the innovative, the sustaining, and the harmonious. What is happening is not failure. It is growth and long awaited rebirth.

My friend and spiritual author Conrad Cain reminds me that we are living here in order to simply experience. We are here to fully feel our experiences rather than masking them with denial. We are spirit walking around in human form so that we can know this tactile level of creation. This includes the full scope of existence, from what we might call wondrous experiences to things like humility, rejection, and failure. Conrad shares that if we can stay centered and feel these experiences fully, rather than feeling sorry for ourselves, we can receive profound spiritual gifts. But when we try to avoid and protect ourselves from our deepest feelings, we miss out on what our soul wants to know. Personally, I have found that the situations I deny keep repeating themselves in my life, and they create my own suffering. They frustrate me continually until I decide to let go and finally know them in myself.

It takes courage to be open to failure, but you are already so brave to be a human being. Are you willing to stop avoiding all that life has to offer during the temporal time you are here? We are each being given precious gifts in this land of duality, but they can only be opened if we make ourselves open to them. If you haven’t already done so, dear soul, allow yourself to be free enough to fail, and then you will know what true freedom is. You will detach from all that’s kept you from growing your gorgeous wings, and you will remember how to fly!

Surrender to Yourself

Life is a blind remembering. It is rediscovering how to see in a way that is more natural than human sight. Life is coming back to the sublime reality of who you are with senses long unused, and finally recognizing God within yourself.

For eons, we forgot this amidst the human experience. We made ourselves separate from everything and denied our own divinity. In many ways, this is a natural cycle – of slumber and wakefulness, but it has been atrociously distorted by egoic power. By forsaking God, we forgot our very selves, and the dream of life became a nightmare.

But now, it is time to wake up. And this is happening naturally. One by one, we are wiping the sleep from our tired human eyes and remembering the truth of existence. Despite those who wish for us to remain asleep and perpetuate greed, we are at last awakening to love. This love is overwhelming and astounding, and last night, it came through loud and clear.

I was on the beach at dusk, standing between two rainstorms. A surreal scene unfolded before my eyes. The ocean shone vivid turquoise beneath a bold periwinkle sky. Receding gray clouds gave way to white, with a soft suggestion of pink. The setting sun emerged, and it was enormous! – a giant golden ball surrounded by fog, pierced by Venus in transit.

I felt like I was on a movie set – surely this could not be real, but it was! The immensity of those spellbinding colors appearing from the darkness startled me with their magic, and brought waves of unfathomable love. I was being shown a vivid glimpse of the higher dimensions that humanity is ready for, and I realized that in order to do this, I must embrace my own divinity. I must create a higher dream myself.

We are finally waking from the human nightmare to claim the dream of the soul, and like Venus, the feminine is leading the way. She is reminding us of our inherent love that nurtures and takes care of each other with compassion, instead of competing towards disastrous ends.

If you don’t already know it, beautiful soul, everything that you have sought your entire life is already within you. It is here waiting for you to find again, and it will blow you away with immeasurable joy. You are never, ever separate from God, and when you recognize your own divinity, you honor all life. You heal and you shine, and bring your unique joy to all of us. You add to the bliss of creation.

So surrender to yourself, sacred soul. Embrace the divinity you have always been. It is here already, simply waiting for you to own.

Why We Forget

We come from a universe that is loving and blissful beyond words – a place that we are an essential part of. So why is it so difficult to remember this inherent love while human? Why do we experience pre-birth amnesia, and why is life so incredibly challenging?

It’s not because we’re not good enough. It is because we choose to grow in ways that boggle the mind.

We come here, courageously, to build deep compassion within ourselves. And we do this by going through incredible human challenges.

We might, for example, wish to learn how to love ourselves more fully, and therefore love everyone more deeply, and then be of greater service to the world. This might be taught to us by overcoming situations of rejection, because when love is denied externally, we learn to build love within ourselves. Or perhaps, we find that we must devote ourselves to care for another person, and by doing so, we learn the immensity of love. Perhaps we ourselves have a particular physical challenge that pushes us to the brink, and shows us the incredible courage that we contain. All the while, we are teaching everyone around us.

By enduring human pain, we are taught essential aspects of love, and we inspire others along the way. We push ourselves to feel compassion instead of judgment, just as our souls hoped we might, and we shine when we overcome our struggles. We grow spiritually, beyond our wildest dreams.

Our souls know that we want dramatic growth, but our human selves do not. The pre-birth amnesia that we experience allows us to learn without preconceived thoughts that interfere. We are able to grow deeply and purely, without excuses or limitations.

Perhaps you’ve noticed in your own life that you are continually offered the unexpected. Nothing that you  experience appears the same way twice or how you think it’s going to look. But oh how it feels the same! These are tests that offer you emotional growth. They help to shift any limiting beliefs.

You see, true tests are always blind and taken rather seriously, and here you are given opportunities to deliberately act as though this is all there is. Eventually, you experience revelations that break through your buried beliefs. Ultimately, you soar with greater love and take this with you forever.

Our hearts wish for us to evolve in ways that the mind will never understand. Even as my own journey opens wide, I can feel certain mental blocks in place to keep me from sabotaging my lessons. I know that they are there for an essential reason – my own evolution, and I have learned to respect these boundaries.

Of course, we always have free will. We have the right to choose what we do, and we have intuitive guidance to help us along the way. In fact, you often take this guidance without your mind even knowing. You reconnect with your soul when you sleep.

Your guidance wants you to grow, but never to suffer. And thankfully, emphatically! suffering will soon be a thing of the past. As we evolve in consciousness, we will never have to learn this rough, fast way again.

Now humanity is ready to remember our inherent and astounding love. We have been asleep for eons, but finally we are waking up. We are evolving towards the love we really are. When you remember this love, you remember who you are. This is spiritual metamorphosis. It is the ultimate coming back to God.

Have Fun!

Life is meant to be fun! We are here to enjoy the sensual world where we can see, touch, taste, hear, and smell all that is around us. We are here to experience this temporal level of creation with all of our senses and revel in them fully.

There is so much magic to partake of here, but so often, we keep ourselves from it. We worry and stress, and miss the beauty of being a human being. with fear. We avoid the joy that is waiting for us to hold, because we have forgotten how to have fun.

We might see a couple deeply in love and turn away, feeling separate from them and so serious, but this couple is showing us that bliss is possible for us too. This is a sign from the universe, calling you to have this possibility in your life. You see, life sends us signs like this all the time, and all we have to do is follow them.

So follow all the joyous opportunities that are waiting for you, and surround yourself with people who have meaningful fun. These people are showing you how to create heaven here on earth.

Real fun is in the present moment. It is waiting for you to just let go of the past and future. So enjoy this moment right now, because it is the only one that’s real. Embrace true unbridled fun that comes from being spontaneous. We are meant to know the pleasure of peace instead of the rat race of the ego. We are meant to enjoy life without ever wondering if we deserve it.

You deserve every rich experience that your heart desires. You deserve to create the life of your dreams! Joy creates this kind of life, but it must start from within. You must feel the bliss inside you before you can manifest it outside. So feel the deep joy that is already in you, and watch it ignite the world!

Joy is contagious. I recently went to a group meditation that I thought would be very serious and quiet. But slowly, everyone began to pick up on the joy of our meditation guide. Soon, waves of laughter inundated the room and became a chorus so beautiful – so pure and all-releasing, that it created the most profound reverie. Oh what a lightness we felt! We were like children again, and for the rest of the day I walked around elevated with joy.

That laughter was one of the most beautiful sounds that I have ever heard, and every time that I laugh freely now, I remember it. Now, it is obvious to me that laughter will change our world because it is the energy of love. It will help us to build our New Golden Age.

You are meant to fully enjoy your life and to savor the beautiful parts of your unique experience. You will not walk this way again, so enjoy the journey that you are on. Yet, don’t take it all too seriously. This is something that the spiritual path often reminds us of. We can be treading along so seriously in all of our seeking, and the wisdom that comes back might be something like, “Go to that party!” And that is the point. The magical celebrations of life are part of why we are here. We are meant to flourish in fun, together. We deserve all of the joy that is waiting for us to claim and revel in beneath the stars.

What’s in a Name?

How quickly we try to name that which is unnamable. How swiftly we define deep beauty that was never meant to be contained. There is so much magic that we fail to notice because we have categorized it as commonplace. Even the human personality is confining to the soul.

Naming anything limits it. When we name something, we box it in and call it familiar. We don’t see all that is so spectacular and what is really there.

Humankind was given the ability to name everything, but so often we use this gift to own rather than to nurture. The reverence and responsibility that were supposed to go hand in hand with naming have been forgotten along the way. Even the naturalists who championed nature became a part of conquest. Their scientific names took over, forsaking the beauty and mystery of the natural world.

Our dear friend and author James Barrett recently gave me a copy of Adyashanti’s “Falling into Grace,” and I love what it says about naming the animals around us. Adyashanti writes, “as soon as we name {a bird}, we think we know what it is. We see “bird,” and we almost discount it.” He explains that we don’t see the magic of this magnificent being taking flight across the sky. In missing this magic, we cheat ourselves out of exquisite experiences all around. We think that we already know, but we haven’t even begun to look.

Naming anything creates separation. As Shakespeare’s Juliet declared: “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Juliet was referring to the name of her family’s enemy, and so often in life, we give far too much credence to names of separation. Let us instead look at the bigger picture, and at each being who, whether they know it or not, already embodies spiritual love.

This is why it’s so incredibly difficult to name a baby. How can we define someone who has come directly from the heavens and become our very universe? You yourself are so spectacular, and so much more than how you’ve ever been defined.

Right now, think of yourself without a name. Close your eyes and sense how immense you really are, far beyond anything you’ve ever been taught. Feel how far you truly extend beyond your body. Indeed, you have no limits. You are not separate from anything or anyone, but are intrinsically connected to all. You are an essential part of us.

Open wide to the magic of you, and to the world all around us. Try to look at everyone and everything that you encounter during the day without names. Rediscover our world and ourselves, and see the divine mystery that lives in all things.

You see, humanity is moving away from the left brain that categorizes experience. We are growing towards simply being in the present moment where we remember that we are love. This love is so immense and integral to the soul, and just like you, it is far too infinite to have a name.

Shakespeare’s Stage

All the world is indeed a stage, and we the brave players on it. We come here to perform dramatic roles in this temporal play – this story of love and love lost. We strut and fret our hours, trying and falling, only to get back up again. It is a rough play, but these scenes are only temporary. And we perform them so that we might grow.

We are Shakespeare’s shadows, here to act out all the radiant facets of love.

Ultimately, love is life, just as it was for Shakespeare. The Bard of Avon, whoever he really was, showed us the human condition. With genius and art, he played out all of its passion – from tragic lows to uplifting highs, from violence to humor and embarrassment. And best of all, life’s sublime exquisite blessings.

But eventually, as Shakespeare wrote in The Tempest, all of this drama does end in dusty death:

“Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits, and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp’d tow’rs, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.”

This life will all be over before we know it, but it has a purpose of grand proportions. The dramatic scripts that we carry out have been written by our own hand. And this is because we want to grow stronger with love and take charge of our soul’s education.

And so, we plan the roles that we will play with each other so that we will push ourselves the most. We want to shift stubborn beliefs so that we believe in more love. Because love seems so absent here, we are forced to assert love in ourselves. And we become forever stronger for it. And when these brief and violent lives are over, all that will remain is love.

When the curtain falls on your life, you will rediscover that it’s been nothing but a dream. You will take your tired costume off and remember your real life off stage. There, you will find yourself surrounded by your dearest loved ones again. And you will enjoy one spectacular cast party for the ages!

And there, in that incredibly blissful place where you have always belonged, you will remember the immensity of love. Even now, as you read these words, you are surrounded by this love that never ends.

So go on fellow actor, and speak your lines with love! Don’t take this play too seriously nor the actors’ lines too personally. They are simply delivered to help you grow just how you hoped they might.

This production is here to teach, so take its lessons to heart. Enjoy the performance! And play your role with as much grace as you can. And always, whenever possible, re-write your script with yet more and more love than you’ve ever known before.

2012

Personal transformation creates collective transformation. In my own life, I am being reminded of this again and again.

I am experiencing personal breakthroughs of love – breakthroughs that require working through buried pain, but oh the growth that this affords! These breakthroughs are mind-blowing and life-altering, and they are all about unconditional love. Such transformation, soul by soul, is exactly how our world will change.

Much like the Samuel Beckett play “Waiting for Godot,” I have often found myself waiting for “2012.” I have been on the edge of my seat, anticipating that change will arrive any day and imagining that we will all be saved. But waiting is not living, positive change is already here, and we are the only ones who can save ourselves. By this I mean that we must do the emotional work to move forward on our individual spiritual paths. When we do, we help to raise consciousness.

We are each being called to work on spiritual growth that leads to our life’s purpose. This is how we co-create a golden earth.

Doing your part starts from within. The awakening times that you are living in are offering resolutions of karma, and each of us has chosen to be here in part for this reason. We are being asked to integrate our deepest life lessons that began long ago, so don’t be surprised when unfinished business comes knocking at your door. This is the stuff that causes emotional pain and screams at you to address it. And this is why life has been so hard these last few years.

The way to handle this pain is not to react, but rather to face it. Let your emotions wash over you, and then let them go. When you dedicate yourself to working on your issues by facing them completely, you will break through with love incarnate. You will learn the bigger lessons that your soul came here to learn.

These lessons are almost always about giving yourself more love. They are about breaking through past patterns so that you finally believe in yourself. This helps not only you, but all of humanity.

Right now, we are graduating from a school that has taught through suffering. And once we graduate, we will learn through more positive means. Don’t lose sight of how ecstatic it feels when we accomplish each step towards this graduation. Personal transformation is astounding! And never ceases to surprise with magic that opens the heart wide.

I have noticed that this process requires forgiveness. It requires shifting self-judgment into self-love. See, we cannot live with love until we forgive ourselves and all who have ever hurt us. We must recognize that we are not any of the things that happen to us. We have simply created these things for our growth.

Once we grow as we wanted to, we can let them go. You see, everything is a step leading us past limitation towards love.

I am starting to believe that collective forgiveness will allow us to fully evolve. This includes forgiving those who have controlled us in dark and abominable ways. When we do not forgive, we remain in a lower vibration. But when we have compassionate awareness, we lift up the entire world.

We are living in times of great healing, so seize these unprecedented opportunities when they appear to you. Make haste and Godspeed, and let love be your catalyst. Let it electrify your path and open your heart ever wider. Let it remind you just how powerful you are, for this is your true you.

Nature

Nature has been such an essential part of my spiritual journey. The more time that I spend outside, the more that my awakening opens wide. I feel an instant kind of healing and the deepest connection to all life.

Nature soothes so perfectly amidst our modern daze. Be in its tranquility often, and know that you are part of this supreme beauty. You are not separate from Nature. In fact, you wither without it. You need this vital energy of life and aren’t meant to be kept indoors with artificial light.

Nature is calling you to partake in all that you naturally know but have somehow lost along the way.

Right now, our Earth is ascending to a higher dimension, and so are we. Spiritual teacher Mary Lane writes that Mother Earth can be a personal guide through this process: “We are going through the same journey of transformation as the Earth. If we follow her lead, utilize her energy, and live in sync, our journey becomes much easier.”

Mother Earth shows us the way. She sustains us with systems of balance that create harmony. Nature reminds us of our own natural rhythms and cycles, and Ascension is the most dramatic of these.

If you pause to give Mother Earth your love, and then wait and listen, you will receive her love in return. This is one of the best things that you can do for both yourself and our Earth right now.

Of course, our Earth sustains the Animal Kingdom. How we treat the beautiful animals who have agreed to give us so much of themselves is crucial. We must thank them from our hearts and recognize the sacred exchanges that they give through love, beauty, loyalty, and of course (if you are not a vegetarian) food. This is one of the most heart-wrenching ways of giving that one can even imagine, and so often we don’t even pause to acknowledge it. We must thank the animals for this incredible gift of “service.” This is all that they ask in return.

Animals are connected to the divine in direct ways that mystify the left brain, and they have so much to teach us. Let us value them as highly as they deserve.

The number one absolute law of our blessed universe is to value the sanctity of all life, because we are all one at heart. This is where we have gone astray. Our break from the natural world has created disastrous problems, and this divorce has affected us at all levels. Humanity has been led by those in the dark who will do anything for egoic power. They have not valued life, and this has caused tremendous suffering.

It is time for us to remember our spiritual power and to uphold this most sacred law again. Mother Earth has put up with so much darkness from us, but in spite of man-made disasters and violations, she shelters us still. Let us feel tremendous gratitude for her in our hearts and wake up to do our part. Let us honor our Earth and raise ourselves up like golden light upon the dawn.

Synchronicity

So many of us have been experiencing increasing synchronicity these past few years. Indeed, it seems absolutely everywhere. Sychronicity demonstrates the energy that connects us and that is us. Because we are each other, and we are infinitely expansive.

The beauty of synchronicity is that it speaks specifically to each person from the greater spiritual world. Concepts, images, words, and numbers appear as sign posts, and repeat themselves to get our attention. When we notice them and trust, it is as though the universe embraces us with a knowing wink. It says, “See, you are not alone on this earth.”

And so often, synchronicity is your support team from above communicating with you.

As time goes by, however, humans tend to rationalize away magical experiences. We try to explain what is unexplainable. You see, when we see the world from the left brain, we operate in survival mode, and it becomes challenging to remember who we really are. We forget that we are eternal, spiritual beings not doomed to live once and die.

Miracles happen all the time, but too often we erase them. We convince ourselves that they don’t exist. If you haven’t already, beautiful friend, make yourself open to miracles in your life. Because anything is possible, if only you trust. You are magic, beloved soul, and your spiritual connection is undeniable. Synchronicity is proving this to you all the time.

For myself, synchronicity has become so obvious, that it is almost laughable. From hour to hour, I see my thoughts and words reflected specifically in the environment around me. The exact idea in my head is spoken out loud in a conversation by two people passing by. Combinations of the same numbers appear on the clock every time that my attention is called to it. The identical meal I just made shows up on a tv cooking show. My questions are even answered specifically, such as when my child gives me the perfect answer with a statement out of the blue.

Synchronicity also occurs for me as a kind of spiritual classroom. I am led from one topic of growth to the next, and these topics are then reflected in my life and relationships.

Each day is filled with these signs, and they remind me that I’m on a limitless path. They reveal my inherent connection to the universe, and that I and it are so much bigger than human perception can explain. It makes me smile in amazement every time.

There are no coincidences and everything has meaning. Have you ever noticed that you have exactly what you need throughout your day, if only you don’t resist it? Life works out beautifully if we don’t work against it, and the right thing at the right time is always here. Have you noticed that you have the people you need throughout your day as well? Just the right friendly voice (one you never expected) appears in the nick of time to get through a trying moment. The universe is always trying to work with us if we just relax “control” and let it.

Synchronicity is God’s genius design revealing itself to you. The universe is singing a song just for you in your very own language. Allow yourself to hear its sweet music, and let it remind you how incredibly magical you are.

Grace

How does one describe that ethereal quality called grace? We know what it is so well, but it can be difficult to define.

I think grace is reverence and thankfulness, and elegance of the soul. It is living poetry that calmly smiles and inspires with beauty beyond compare. Grace is that high divine quality that overcomes the human condition, granting respite amidst our endless difficulties. Grace elevates this rough and tough experience by waving the magic wand of love – the love that we share at the core.

To me, grace is not mercy, because we don’t need to be pardoned. We are already divinely perfect, and grace knows this with pure acceptance. It forgives the mistakes we have come here to make because it understands that we are learning on purpose. Life is hard for good reason, but it’s how we handle it that matters. Often, the best that we can do is to move forward with grace. I feel this is a momentous accomplishment. Indeed, it is why we are here.

I am so incredibly moved by how humanity perseveres with grace every day. You, yourself, inspire me to no end with your strength as you shine your light amidst the dark, illuminating the way for us all.

Grace is the ultimate forgiveness. It frees us with unconditional love and lets everything problematic melt away. Oh I know all too well how hard it is to forgive! But what a holy experience this affords. Eventually, we realize that the people in our lives have been reflecting our own issues, just as we asked them to.

I pray that I may walk forward with the greater awareness of grace and receive this shining gift from above. And when I lose my way, and feel very separate and alone, may grace guide me back to our one reality of love.

Grace is who we really are and where we truly come from. The other day, I had a sudden vision of grace and I immediately knew it was a memory from heaven. There we all were, going about our real lives and feeling so fulfilled with love. There was a clear sense of compassionate purpose, and we felt such immense joy. We were embodying the most beautiful kind of grace and carrying ourselves from one high, creative task to the next. We were continuing to work on our growth and living harmoniously with each other in deep support.

I will carry this reminder with me as we embrace the next age. It is time to bring heaven to our human experience and build our new golden world with grace.
