We come from a universe that is loving and blissful beyond words – a place that we are an essential part of. So why is it so difficult to remember this inherent love while human? Why do we experience pre-birth amnesia, and why is life so incredibly challenging?
It’s not because we’re not good enough. It is because we choose to grow in ways that boggle the mind.
We come here, courageously, to build deep compassion within ourselves. And we do this by going through incredible human challenges.
We might, for example, wish to learn how to love ourselves more fully, and therefore love everyone more deeply, and then be of greater service to the world. This might be taught to us by overcoming situations of rejection, because when love is denied externally, we learn to build love within ourselves. Or perhaps, we find that we must devote ourselves to care for another person, and by doing so, we learn the immensity of love. Perhaps we ourselves have a particular physical challenge that pushes us to the brink, and shows us the incredible courage that we contain. All the while, we are teaching everyone around us.
By enduring human pain, we are taught essential aspects of love, and we inspire others along the way. We push ourselves to feel compassion instead of judgment, just as our souls hoped we might, and we shine when we overcome our struggles. We grow spiritually, beyond our wildest dreams.
Our souls know that we want dramatic growth, but our human selves do not. The pre-birth amnesia that we experience allows us to learn without preconceived thoughts that interfere. We are able to grow deeply and purely, without excuses or limitations.
Perhaps you’ve noticed in your own life that you are continually offered the unexpected. Nothing that you experience appears the same way twice or how you think it’s going to look. But oh how it feels the same! These are tests that offer you emotional growth. They help to shift any limiting beliefs.
You see, true tests are always blind and taken rather seriously, and here you are given opportunities to deliberately act as though this is all there is. Eventually, you experience revelations that break through your buried beliefs. Ultimately, you soar with greater love and take this with you forever.
Our hearts wish for us to evolve in ways that the mind will never understand. Even as my own journey opens wide, I can feel certain mental blocks in place to keep me from sabotaging my lessons. I know that they are there for an essential reason – my own evolution, and I have learned to respect these boundaries.
Of course, we always have free will. We have the right to choose what we do, and we have intuitive guidance to help us along the way. In fact, you often take this guidance without your mind even knowing. You reconnect with your soul when you sleep.
Your guidance wants you to grow, but never to suffer. And thankfully, emphatically! suffering will soon be a thing of the past. As we evolve in consciousness, we will never have to learn this rough, fast way again.
Now humanity is ready to remember our inherent and astounding love. We have been asleep for eons, but finally we are waking up. We are evolving towards the love we really are. When you remember this love, you remember who you are. This is spiritual metamorphosis. It is the ultimate coming back to God.
Do you have memory’s of “The In-Between Place”, Suzy?
What a beautiful question. I’ve personally found these memories to be either frustratingly absent or blissfully and blatantly obvious. Of course, for me they are not memories in any traditional left brain sense, but rather an inner knowing and feeling of immense joy.
I can’t wait to hear about your memories Conrad!
Suzy
I too have come to know that if I had been able to bring all of the love and appreciation for other beings with me on this human journey, I would not have been able to know the “other side”. Knowledge of the darkness that lives in every human being had to be learned when we came into this world. Now that I and you, as well as many many others have let that darkness go in favor of love for each and every thing – from a microscopic speck to the largest thing, we are now again where we can lead our world into the loving place that the universe has saved for us.
I LOVE what you write here James. Thank you for your thoughtful insight and illumination.
I’m feeling personally and dramatically this week that eons ago, I somehow forgot God within, and I am here to finally remember once again.
God within has always been there waiting for us to know ourselves so that God can “speak” the message of love to us. Rembering is just part of it. Living it to our fullest potential is the humans challange.
I was born with a memory of a place and an existence prior to my birth. In my secret thoughts I called it “In between place” but I never knew why. There were other Spiritual Beings there, whom I felt were my guides and were endeavoring to prepare me for my renewed existence on this earth.
My guides told me that I would not be able to remember the things that we discussed, once I passed on to my new (this) life. Very sincerely I told them that I would remember and then they all laughed. It was seemingly a somewhat deriding, yet still a very benevolent, kind & gentle laugh. I sensed that they were pleased with my determination to try, but they assured me that I wouldn’t ever really be able to do so.
As I transitioned into this life I still remember chanting over and over; “I will remember, I will remember…….”. When I was very young I (From Birth to 7 years old) seemed to recall much of what had occurred there, and even though the memories faded over time, I have always remembered at least that much. Sometimes even still now there is a whisper or two of more of ‘forgotten’ knowledge. Yes….. I am one of the first “Indigo Children”.
It seems that they have somehow left some breadcrumbs upon all my future paths to remind me of the very things I was told I’d never remember.
I’d never heard anyone else speak of, or even infer that they knew anything, about “In Between Place” until I read about it in some books about Scientology many years ago.
Since then I’ve stumbled upon many other crumbs of seemingly ‘lost wisdom’. Neale’s “CwG” series contains many of those previously lost crumbs. I’d been telling a few very select others about much of what is contained within that series of books long before I ever knew they existed. I’ve amassed many other crumbs as well and have almost enough to at least make a very tasty bread pudding.
Conrad, it is pure delight to read this! I love knowing this about you and that you said, “I will remember!” !!! Thank you for sharing this incredible memory and inspiring us all.
Beautiful words, helps us to remember: I understand that we have travelled through space and time and seen the most magnificent sights and beauty along the way. We have been everywhere and done everything though we have forgotten the brilliance and just how beautiful we are. Hope to talk soon Colleen
Gorgeous! Thank you Colleen. I’ll be reflecting on your words all day

Hi Suzy, it seems that complete amnesia has never been the objective. Over the course of a lifetime, humanity to varying degrees experiences awakening to the presence of God and / or spirituality. Awakening is part of the human condition, God wants us to have this knowledge as we live our lives. Yet, life is also about the adventure of discovery, ridding the river, the challenges, the discovery of our true identity…and our unfolding destiny! Awesome stuff.
Hi Hans, Of course I was having this same discussion with my family yesterday! Love the timing. And love how you say adventure of discovery. (What a ride!) And that awakening to God is part of the human condition. Beautiful point! And beautifully put.
There are too many of us still asleep. It drives me a little crazy. I run out of patience and get tired of looking cuckoo in the mean time : ) There is so much conditioning that fights awareness here. But things are changing rapidly now. I wish for each beautiful human being to have the most divinely perfect awakening while in human form. Nothing compares to the unfolding. ~S
